It was the late 70's and and my grandfather gave me his old camera - the kind that had a stiff case with the leather strap. He taught me all about it, how to use it and better yet, how to look for the beauty in all things before I clicked. I couldn't wait until photos were ready on the 35mm film so my parents could drive me to Kmart to pick them up. He got me hooked!

Times have changed and I shoot with TWO Nikon D850's, a Tamron 70-200mm telephoto lens, a Nikkor 28-300mm telephoto, and Nikkor prime 50mm lens. I go everywhere with my ProMaster monopod and ProMaster Swift Strap.

Post-processing is just as important so I use Adobe Lightroom Classic and Topaz AI for removing any extra noise from my images.

As a former elite athlete and my passion for everything sports, I have immersed myself into capturing what the 1970's ABC Sports broadcaster Jim McKay was famously quoted for saying: "...the thrill of victory..and the agony of defeat...the human drama of athletic competition..."

Whether it's tee ball, high school football or girls volleyball; the simple image of hitting a ball or diving into water, the immediate vision of what occurred is captured by my lens to be remembered forever.
That is photography and I am lucky enough to share it with everyone.
Thanks, Grandpa.
